What to expect
You’ll get your hands dirty! Whether it’s your first time touching clay or you’ve been at it for a while, our classes are designed to be welcoming, a little messy, and a lot of fun.
We’ll guide you through the basics, give you space to experiment, and help when you get stuck (which is part of the process). Expect to slow down, focus, and make something with your hands.
This is a working ceramics studio, not a paint-your-own pottery experience. You’ll be learning real techniques, working with wet clay, and building skills over time.
All materials — clay, tools, glazes, even aprons — are included. Just show up.
What to wear
Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Clay washes out, but it has a way of getting everywhere.
Studio etiquette
Everyone helps reset the studio at the end of class. This means cleaning your tools, wiping down your space, and leaving things ready for the next group.
Age Requirements
Our classes are designed for ages 16 and up. Students ages 13–15 are welcome when enrolled alongside a parent / guardian / caregiver.
Opening Timeline
Classes are scheduled with our planned opening in mind and are contingent on receiving our Certificate of Occupancy from the city. If timing shifts, we’ll offer rescheduling options or a full refund.
Attendance (Multi-Session Classes)
The first session lays the groundwork for everything that follows, so please plan to attend. If you know you’ll miss it, reach out ahead of time. Makeup sessions may not be available.
Open Studio Practice
Students in multi-session classes are encouraged to practice during Open Studio hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 11am–6pm.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancel at least 7 days before your class start date for a full refund. Within 7 days, refunds may not be available.
Waitlist
If a class is full, email info@bayhavenceramics.com to join the waitlist. Spots do open up, and we’ll let you know if one becomes available.
