Elegant Plates and Platters

From cookie plates and appetizer platters to refined serving dishes, create beautiful ceramics that bring a personal touch to your holiday gatherings.

Over three sessions, you'll explore the art of throwing wide, shallow forms, refining their shapes, and finishing them with festive glazes. Make as many pieces as you'd like, and experiment with different designs along the way.

• Session 1 – Throwing: Learn techniques for creating flat, even surfaces, well-defined rims, and a variety of plate and platter shapes.

• Session 2 – Trimming: Add foot rings, refine proportions, and finish your pieces in preparation for firing.

• Session 3 – Glaze Lab: Bring your work to life with festive colors, layered glazes, and decorative finishes. Attend whichever Glaze Lab sessions suit your schedule, as many times as you'd like. (Schedule coming soon!)

Advanced beginners and up welcome. Participants should be comfortable throwing a straight-sided cylinder using at least 2 lbs of clay. All materials, glazing, and firing included.

This class has two options — Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings. Choose the series that works best for your schedule.
